Shayne Stockton returns for another season

Fife Flyers are delighted to confirm the re-signing of US forward Shayne Stockton.

27 year old Stockton joined the Flyers at the start of the 2015/16 season and the Rochester native is delighted to be back for a second term with the club.

Stockton was nominated for Goal of the Season and Top Points Scorer at the Flyers End of Season Awards, narrowly missing out to team mate Ryan Dingle on both occasions.

Stockton ended his inaugural season in the EIHL with 51pts from 58 games (24 goals & 27 Assists).

The 6’2 centre played 4 seasons with College of the Holy Cross in the NCAA before embarking on his professional career with Amiens in France in 2014/15 and will now return to the EIHL for a second season with the Flyers.

Stockton had the following to say on re-signing for the Kirkcaldy based club “I'm very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the Fife Flyers organization for another season. I really enjoyed my time in Kirkcaldy last year and I am eager to start where we left off last season, and aim for some silverware.”

“I'm looking forward to getting back to Kirkcaldy and putting the Flyers jersey on once again. Roll on September."

Head Coach Todd Dutiaume added “Having Stocks back in a Flyers jersey was a priority for me. On ice he has a tremendous skill set that was extremely valuable to us in all situations.”

“Down the stretch he featured heavily in all of our special teams and could be counted on to be involved in any big play when it was required of him.”

“Off the ice he is just a great guy to have in the room; very positive and easy going, and well-liked by all his team mates.”

“With a full season in the Elite League under his belt, Shayne will come in even stronger for us this season and remain an integral part of the Flyers line up.”
