Shayne Stockton in action for Amiens

Fife Flyers are delighted to confirm the signing of US forward Shayne Stockton. The 26 year old from Rochester, NY joins the Flyers following a season in France playing for Amiens.

The point a game forward ended the season with 27 points from 25 games (13 goals & 14 assists). The 6’2 centre played 4 seasons with College of the Holy Cross in the NCAA before embarking on his professional career with Amiens in France.

Stockton had the following to say on signing for the club “It is an honour to be given the opportunity to join the Fife Flyers organisation for the upcoming season. “

“I have heard nothing but great things about the team and organization. With the tradition of the club and community support, it was an easy decision that Fife is where I want to play. But with that being said, there is work to be done this offseason and I’m using this as motivation to prepare myself for this year.”

“I’m very excited to see how the team shapes up the rest of summer. I am looking forward to being a Flyer and having a successful season as a team.”

A member of the Flyers coaching staff added "We are delighted to sign Shayne this upcoming season for many reasons; he is coming off his first full year pro in which he scored over a point a game, and led his team in playoff scoring. He was also third best plus/minus in the league at +19 in 25 games.”

“He moves well for his size and for a playmaking centre he shoots the puck really well. His ability to play both sides of the puck gives us another defensively responsible centre but also one that will produce for us offensively.”

“He is still young and progressing and we hope he will take his game to the next level this upcoming season.”
