Dundee Stars

This weekend sees the Fife Flyers, sponsored by Arnold Clark Mercedes-Benz, continue their Challenge Cup campaign with an away trip to Glasgow Clan on Saturday, before hosting Dundee Stars at Fife Ice Arena on Sunday with a new face-off time of 5:30pm

Todd Dutiaume's side make their first trip to Braehead arena on Saturday as the Clan return home ice after 5 weeks on the road. Speaking ahead of this weekend's games, head coach Todd Dutiaume had the following to say.

Flyers go into Saturday's game without the fans' player of the month, Danick Gauthier, who was earlier this week handed a 1 game suspension for a slew footing incident vs Belfast Giants last Sunday.

"We know going into Glasgow this weekend they are going to be excited for their home opener, but we would certainly like to repay the favour they gave us on opening night.

"It's going to be 2 teams playing great hockey, and a rivalry that speaks for itself, this game has the makings of a good hockey game."

On Sunday, Dundee Stars visit Fife Ice Arena for the first time this season, and with the Flyers having already recorded a win over Omar Pacha's side in the Challenge Cup, Dutiaume is looking to seal another win, this time on home ice.

"Dundee are a fast, offensive, dangerous hockey club. If we play on the outside like they are going to want us too, or turnover pucks, they have a very good transition game that they can punish with.

"We will need to be patient, play hard and be prepared to go and get the puck, just like the little things we done up in Dundee that made us successful."

Grab your McDonald's chuck-a-puck from sellers on game night to be in with a chance of winning £250, or McDonald's vouchers on both Saturday and Sunday.

Pucks are available for just £1 and the competition takes place between periods 2 and 3!
