Jordan Marr

Fife Flyers sponsored by Arnold Clark Mercedes-Benz are pleased to confirm the signing of back-up netminder Jordan Marr for the 2017/18 Elite Ice Hockey League season.

Marr, 26, returns to Fife having initially iced for Todd Dutiaume's side in the Northern Premier League in 2006 before travelling to Canada to pursue an opportunity with the Ontario Hockey Academy overseen by retired NHL netminder Ray Sheppard.

In 2010, Marr iced with the Philadelphia Jackals in the International Junior Hockey League, finishing the season as the top ranked netminder with a 93.4% save percentage.

Marr attended Finlandia University in Michigan and spent 4 years playing in the NCAA III whilst studying for a degree in International Business.

In 2015, Marr signed with MK Lightning of the EPIHL and went on to ice in 27 games, posting an impressive 91.3% save percentage, and a 2.47 goals per game average.

The following season Marr made the switch to the Hull Pirates and backstopped them to a hugely impressive start, making 32 starts and recording a 91.2% save percentage.

Speaking about returning to Flyers Jordan said "I'm happy to be back at the rink and club where my career began.

"After speaking with Todd and Jeff, I felt that I could fill the role of a goaltender who will compete every day at practice and push the import net minder to be at his best, while also being able to improve my game and push for starts throughout the year.

"My goal for the future is to be an Elite league starter and challenge for a place in the GB squad, and I believe that being a Flyer is a partnership that will benefit the club and myself.

"I can't wait for the season to start and play in front of the fans at the FIA once again."

Assistant Coach Jeff Hutchins added "This is one of a number of moves Todd and I have made this summer to move the club forward.

"Jordan is an experienced Scottish goalie for his age, he has played at a high level in the U.S. and had a really strong year featuring both in the EPIHL and the Elite League.

"This move gives us a full time back up, who will both learn and challenge our starter for playing time."

Jordan's arrival means the club will be saying goodbye to Craig Douglas.

We would like to thank Craig Douglas for his commitment over the last 2 season with the Flyers. Everyone at the club would like to wish him all the best for the future.

Jeff Hutchins added "Todd and I would like to thank Craig for his time and commitment over the past couple seasons, he was a model professional and well-liked by his teammates."
