 Danick Gauthier

Fife Flyers sponsored by Arnold Clark Mercedes-Benz are delighted to confirm the signing of former Tampa Bay Lightning prospect, Danick Gauthier for the 2017/18 Elite Ice Hockey League season.

Gauthier, from Waterloo Quebec enters his 6th pro season having spent his career between the Syracuse Crunch & Manitoba Moose in the AHL and Florida Everblades, Wichita Thunder, Norfolk Admirals and Tulsa Oilers of the ECHL.

Last season Gauthier began the year with Norfolk Admirals before being traded to Tulsa Oilers, he played in 55 games, scoring 10 goals and 10 assists before finishing the season with a call up to the AHL with former Flyers' legend Mark Morrison's Manitoba Moose.

Gauthier, 25, has iced in 62 games in the AHL, scoring 9 goals and 9 assists, whilst also playing in over 230 games in the ECHL scoring 62 goals and 87 assists.

Following his signing Gauthier said "I am really excited about coming to Scotland and playing for the Flyers.

"This will be my first European experience. I’m excited but also curious about how my hockey style will fit in the European game. I know I will have to adjust, but I‘m also confident I can use my skills to help the team.

"I’ve watched a few videos about Fife and the team. I was happy to see you have good crowds at the games. The city looks nice and I was impressed by the beach. I really didn’t know what to expect until I watched those videos."

Head coach Todd Dutiaume added "I'm delighted to have Danick in a flyers jersey for the upcoming season. I've had a number of talks with Mark Morrison and I told him the type of player we were looking for; Danick topped that list for him.

"I had the opportunity to meet up with him and I was impressed by not only his character but commitment to contributing in any way required to help the Flyers towards a successful season.

"He'll bring size and grit into our forward line up and he also has the capability of increasing our offensive production. I'm sure the Flyers faithful will join me in welcoming our latest addition to our line up."
