Fife Flyers Directors Q & A

Below are a list of the questions submitted. Please note some of the questions received were of a similar nature of others and therefore may not appear on the list below.

  1. How are the rink repairs coming on, and what should we expect to see next season in the arena?
  2. Where do the directors see the Flyers in 5 years from now? What makes them so sure that the new structure for next season is what the fans want to see?
  3. Do the directors think that we need to up the number of imports currently playing SNL and NPL and what are their main reasons for their thoughts?
  4. What's the secret of the success of the Fife player development?
  5. Is it not time to allow someone with ambition and drive to take over the chairmanship of the club with a view to playing at the top level in the UK?
  6. We're going into a new phase in Scottish Hockey next season. Can you shed any light if there has been any moves towards British hockey coming back to Kirkcaldy?
  7. Can we confirm how many imports the respective leagues will have next season? There have been various reports from 1 up to as many as 3.
  8. How do the Fife Flyers management view the potential input from their fans. I have written to the club directors on 3 seperate occassions this season, and await a reply. I belive fan involvement is key to the well running of the club.
  9. Do the directors feel that British hockey will ever be unified again? Its clearly what the fans want but how far away from that are we? Will we ever get a 2 tier league system in place with promotion and relegation from one to the other?
  10. As someone who has stood by his commitment to SCOTTISH ice hockey, can you tell us your plans to revitalise the interest and fanbase of the Fife Flyers this coming season, how you plan to attract back the fans who have strayed from our support? I would also like to applaud your commitment to the sport, and our club in particular, in the face of such adversty and criticism.
  11. During season 2006-2007 I offered to act as a liaison type person with the scout people in Fife and received no feedback. Would Flyers be interested in that sort of community liaison? If so I am happy to help out with contacting the scout people in Fife
  12. One of my main concerns over the past couple of seasons, lack of communication aside, is that there is very little laid down on what is trying to be achieved with regards to an end product and a timescale.
Therefore, what is the aimed for end product, and how long is it felt it would take us to get there? I have been a season ticket holder for many seasons and intend to be so next season so I would just like visibility.
Secondly, I spoke to several people direct and dropped a letter into the dressing room this season with a request for a team visit to my Cub Scouts in Inverkeithing. I was annoyed to hear nothing, even if the response was a negative it would still have been a response. Are Flyers intending to continue community visits?
  13. I'm not a Flyers fan, but I would like to see them remain a force in British Ice Hockey. I am therefore interested to know at what level their Management are aspiring to play at in say five years time?
  14. Would you have done anything differently if you could go back to any time during your ownership of the Flyers? What is the most memorable game you have seen the Flyers play? Are there any players you would like to see back in the Flyers team?
