Jamie Milam

Fife Flyers are delighted to confirm that defenceman Jamie Milam has signed for the Flyers for the forthcoming season.

The right handed, 200lbs, 6ft defenceman hails from Lake Orion (MI) USA, and joins the Flyers after playing in Norway for the Rosenborg IHK Elite last season. Milam ended the season with 38 points from 45 games (16 goals & 22 assists). Milam played for University side Northern Michigan Uni in the NCAA, before starting his professional career in the ECHL. Milam has also played in Europe playing in Denmark, Allsvenskan, NLB, CHL, Poland and a brief stint with the Cardiff Devils in the EIHL back in 2012/13.  Milam will bring an offensive edge to the Flyers defensive core.

Milam had the following to say on signing for the Flyers “I am looking forward to joining the Flyers. I have high expectations for myself and the team this season. I am excited to play in Scotland and find out more about the country and heritage. I am looking forward to playing for the Flyers and to win some games and hopefully some silverware.”

Associate Coach Danny Stewart added “Getting a guy like Milam on the back end makes us much more offensive minded in all situations. He has put up very impressive numbers wherever he has played and coming off an 18 goal season as a D-man just shows you the ability he has.”

“We lacked a shooter from the back for a while last year until we got Hainsey. Having them both, along with our skill up front, we should have 2 really good units on the PP which is essential in having an effective PP.”

“Jamie has a bomb of a shot and sees the ice well, but also commits to the other end of the ice too. He has been part of a couple of championship winning teams in the past and having winners in the room is another bonus.”

Head Coach Todd Dutiaume added “Jaime will give us an offensive boost at the back. He is a competitor with a heavy shot and from our conversations he knows the teams goals and expectations. He will fit in well with our existing D-men and as a unit be pivotal to our success this season.”
