Matt Siddall

Fife Flyers are delighted to confirm that forward Matt Siddall has this week taken up duties as assistant head coach of the Fife Flyers. Siddall was identified by player/coach Todd Dutiaume as the player he wanted to bring in to Fife as his assistant but Siddall has been given time to settle in to Fife and taken time to adjust to the Elite Ice Hockey League, whilst also getting to grips with the opposition.

"This week we are formally announcing Matt Siddall as player/assistant coach." Todd Dutiaume confirmed. "When we were in talks with Matt during the summer, this was always going to be the case that once he had got over and settled in he would become player assistant coach."

Siddall joined the Fife Flyers having played in the ECHL last 2 seasons on the team of former Flyers legend Mark Morrison, Victoria Salmon Kings.

"Matt took a couple of our training sessions last week. We are delighted to make this announcement, we wanted to give Matt time to settle in before we made this announcement. Matt has settled in really well here in Fife and has got to grips with the league."

Steven Lynch continues his duties as bench coach.

Todd also took time to address recent rumours raised regarding players leaving after being unhappy at the club and had the following to say "All our guys are professionals, we have been going through some growing pains as we make the transition to the Elite League, but the guys are settled and happy over here. Some of the guys families and girlfriends are heading over soon. They are dedicated professionals, so yes they are unhappy at losing, but we all are. As far as I am concerned no-one is leaving.
