Flyers continued their winning ways in the Challenge Cup on Saturday after defeating the Edinburgh Capitals 5-2 at Fife Ice Arena before the team traveled to Cardiff the following evening to take on the Cardiff Devils in league action.

Associate coach Danny Stewart spoke after Sunday's game about the team's performance and was pleased with how the team played for a large part of the weekend. Despite going 2-0 down in the first period on Saturday to rivals Edinburgh Capitals, Flyers quickly regroup and turned the game around during the second and third periods.

"I thought after giving up two early goals that we tightened up defensively and showed a lot of composure to stick to the plan. I felt the final two periods we played good solid hockey and deserved the win."

On Sunday in Cardiff it was Flyers who were on the opposite end of a 5-2 result as Cardiff secured the win. Despite the result, Stewart was pleased with what he saw from his team.

"On Sunday the result was disappointing but I liked how we competed all night and to the end. It's always a tough adjustment going to that rink and it was a very physical game.

"For large parts I felt we played well, competed physically and were right in that game. Unfortunately with the quality that Cardiff has we made a couple defensive errors that put us behind early.

"The 3rd we battled and put some pressure on them, but got caught pushing a bit for that 2nd goal and they took advantage.

"All in all a lot more positives and we will continue to try and improve week by week."
