Horne Happy to be Back

Fife Flyers are delighted to confirm that Kirkcaldy born Kyle Horne will be back in a Flyers jersey for the forthcoming season.

Kyle originally joined the Flyers in the 1996/97 season, staying with the Flyers until the 2004/05 season, before joining the Slough Jets in 2005/06. Kyle also played for the GB U’18s and U’20s sides (1996 – 2000) as well as the GB International team in the World Championships in 2001/02, 2002/03, 2004/05, 2005/06 and 2007/08. Kyle has also played for local EIHL rivals the Edinburgh Capitals from 2006/07 – 2010/11 before re-joining the Flyers for their inaugural season in the EIHL in 2011/12.

The 6’1, 210lbs Defenceman finished last season with 60PIMS and 14pts (3 goals & 11 assists) from 59 games.

Kyle had the following to say on re-signing for the Flyers “I am delighted to be back for the forthcoming season. I really enjoyed last season and felt like I had a steady season.”

“The run we had from Christmas right up until the playoffs was amazing and I am looking forward to getting back on the ice and picking up where we left off.”

“The way the fans got behind us all of last season was great, and I’m really excited to play in front of the home crowd again this season. Playing in front of those sell-out crowds was awesome and I know all of the guys are looking forward to seeing more sell outs this season and getting that atmosphere going from the opening game.”

Associate Coach Danny Stewart added “It’s great to have Kyle back for another season. I felt this past season was his most consistent season yet since Fife joined the EIHL.”

“He is steady back there and when he is on his game he doesn't make many mistakes. His experience and quality makes us better at the back end and we will be looking to Kyle to be a big part of our defensive core once again!”

Head Coach Todd Dutiaume added “Kyle is a player that can be relied upon to show up every night. We know exactly what we get from Kyle and his experience and consistency are big assets for us. Kyle is a long time servant of the club and long may it continue.”
