Ian Young player of the month - November

As the 2017/18 Elite Ice Hockey League aproaches the hectic festive period, we are pleased to announce the winner for Fife Flyers November of the Player of the Month.

Defencemen Ričards Birziņš and Ian Young alongside forwards Peter LeBlanc and Danick Gauthier made up the 4 candidates nominated for Novembers month's award.

This month we are please to announce that defenceman Ian Young has been voted the fans Player of the Month for the month of November.

Ian Young has been a rock in the Flyers defence sicne arriving in Kirkcaldy this summer as well as contributing offensivley with some big goals for the team, including the overtime winner against the Nottingham Panthers. Young has 3 goals and 2 assists for the month of November.

"It's definitely been a crazy month of hockey. We had a lot of ups and downs but it's been amazing to see the resilience of our team.

"We had some great comeback efforts and have shown what we are capable of. We have a great squad and if we can consistently play at the top of our game then there are some great possibilities of what we can accomplish.

"I've settled in great so far. It's a very welcoming community and it's just been an awesome experience overall."

  • Saturday - 12pm to 4pm and from doors open on game day. 
  • Sunday - CLOSED (Unless there is a Flyers home game, in which case tickets on sale 12 to 4pm and from doors open).
  • Doors open 2 hours prior to face-off.

The Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) is a professional ice hockey league in the United Kingdom formed in 2003. The league currently consists of 12 teams, with Braehead (SCO), Belfast (NIR), Cardiff (WAL), Coventry (ENG), Dundee (SCO), Edinburgh (SCO), Fife (SCO), Guildford (ENG), Manchester (ENG), Milton Keynes (ENG), Nottingham (ENG) and Sheffield (ENG).
