Shayne Stockton returns

Fife Flyers are delighted to confirm the return of 28 year old American forward Shayne Stockton for the 2017/18 Elite Ice Hockey League campaign.

The 6’2 centre, from Rochester, New York, played 4 seasons with College of the Holy Cross in the NCAA before embarking on his professional career in France with Amiens in 2014/15 and will now return to the EIHL for a third season with the Flyers. During his first season Shayne amassed 52 points (24 goals + 28 assists) in 62 games.

Shayne's second season saw him ice in only 14 games due to a troublesome lower body injury. Despite icing in only 14 games, Stockton tallied 9 points, 4 goals + 5 assists.

Speaking about his return Shayne had the following to say "I am really excited to get back to Fife and play hockey again. I've really enjoyed my time playing for the Flyers and looking forward to the opportunity to come back. Not being able to play much this past season was really difficult and I can't wait to get back to playing again"

Shayne Stockton celebrates"I feel extremely fortunate that the Fife Flyers organisation hasn't given up on me because of the injury. I am doing my best to prepare to come back and help this hockey club succeed."

"I appreciate the support the fans have given me and I look forward to get back to Kirkcaldy for another season"

Assistant coach Jeff Hutchins added “Todd and I are very happy to have Shayne back with us for the new season. When Shayne went down injured he was arguably one of our better players at the time.”

“Shayne is an extremely reliable player at both ends of the ice, he does a lot of the little things right.”

“Off the ice he is a great guy to have in the dressing room; he is very positive and easy going, and well-liked by his team mates.”

“We are excited to welcome Shayne back to Kirkcaldy and to have the opportunity to work with him once again.
